“Growing up on the family dairy farm, young Colin Campbell thought that milk and cheese was great. He went to school, became a nutritional biochemist and went upon finding a better way to feed the world high quality animal protein, to help save the world.
He was so outstanding that he rose relentlessly through the academic ranks to become, among other things, the senior science advisor to the american institute for cancer research and endowed professor at Cornell University, the number one research institution in nutrition biochemistry in America. And finally he became the principle investigator of “The China Study”, the most sophisticated epidemiological study of diet disease ever conducted. But there’s been a problem. Professor Campbell learned that milk and cheese weren’t so good, after all. When he and his colleagues discovered this, it became clear that this was a discovery of incalculable importance. It could help save the world, but very inconveniently for the powers that’d be. Telling this truths has lead him not to problems at a dinner party, but to cross swords with powerful industries. It has meant facing down congressional level pressure and dealing with university and government agents, suggesting what the great Professor should study and what conclusions he should reach. But to the frustration of all this fine, psychologically well adjusted folks, Colin Campbell could not manage to keep himself quiet, no matter what the consequences. He not only discovers the truth, but he tells it. Today we get the chance to have him tell us something of his work. Ladies and gentlemen it is my privilege to introduce my colleague, mentor, friend and hero: Dr. T. Collin Campbell” By Dr. Doug Lisle, PhD
